ON THE MOVE
FEB 19, 2023: Today is Steve Rick's birthday. His wife, my niece Cindy, and their 2 girls Evie and Harper, celebrate him on his birthday every year and he is there with them in Spirit form. Cancer took him away years ago. We all miss him, and the love never dies.
Why am I on the move? My beach side house sit is over, and I am going from one place to another, quite frequently actually. Friend's places, daughter's homes, pet sitting gigs, etc. I love every place I stay at so I am not complaining. My biggest problem seems to be that I have too much stuff. There, I have said it, I admit it. Add to that the fact that I am an artist, and that includes more "stuff". Paints, paintings, oh, and did I mention I am also a musician? More "stuff". I have my food stashes in my blue mason jars, an assortment of home grown and bought teas, vitamins to keep me healthy, clothes and shoes for all sorts of temps and conditions, etc. My daughter's partner thinks it hilarious that I even have my 2 potted kale plants traveling with me. For a little while longer I think. It's a lot. I will be getting an apartment at some point, so I want to keep most of what I have. "First world problem"!
I am going to meet my dear friend Marina's new baby Esme this month! Marina plays the violin and has this original painting in her home, so I chose it for today's entry. I am only traveling with my mandolin, harmonicas, and Native American flute.
