Time To Travel
NOV 3, 2022: Summer ended almost overnight. We were all ok with that since we really needed the rain! Smoke and fires were scary. And now it is going to get cold. Time to bring in all the tender houseplants. And time to take a bus tomorrow to a hotel near the airport, because I am flying to Las Vegas to see my Aunt Bobbie, and then on to Albuquerque to see Jody, Katoa, and little Lisa!! I will be warm on my birthday and see some sun! I will get to visit some loved ones after a very stressful year. I have had a ton of love and support here with friends and daughters. And beautiful weather too. But I looked ahead and knew that November is usually our wettest month of the year, and since we sold our home and I had no pet sitting jobs till December, a trip south would be a good idea. San Diego was an option, but I had been talking about a trip to see my Uncle Roy and Aunt Bobbie for years now. So I decided to finally go there. I think I will feel my uncles presence there too. I am glad that I am finally going! Last time I saw my Uncle, we were on our way to Mexico and had a layover. I met them outside of security somewhere and we played cards and visited. I felt that it would be my last time to see him, and it was. I am grateful to be going to see my Aunt Bobbie. She has always been so good to me. And I will spend Thanksgiving in ABQ! I love Jody to the moon and back.
The painting I chose for this entry is from a rainy November day in Ireland about 20 years ago. I am a plein air painter, and I sat in the car with my widow open to paint it.
